Fuel Management Crew Member
Position: Fuel Management Crew Member
Company: Lower Nicola Indian Band Development Corporation
Location: Merritt, BC
Reports to: Forestry Manager
Deadline: Open
Altering or modifying forest fuel to reduce aggressive wildfire behavior.
Project Term: Full time, Temporary. This is a seasonal position but can lead to year round opportunities.
Preferable Qualifications:
- Chainsaw Certifications (BCFSC Certificate),
- OFA Level 1 or OFA Level 3,
- Fire Suppression Course – S100
- Wildlife Danger Tree Assessor Certificate
- Class 5 Driver’s License
Key Characteristics:
- Able to work outside and in a range of weather conditions,
- Physically fit to work and walk in a rough terrain area,
- Previous experience in forestry or vegetation control, and,
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced work environment.
