SFE is a Forestry Consulting Firm which offers a many services to over 20 different clients, some of the services we provide are as follows:
- Road and Cutblock development
- Timber Cruising
- Harvest and Road Supervision
- Road Inspections
- Log Quality Monitoring
- Log Brokerage and Sales
- DTA and Falling Services
- Road Construction and Maintenance (Both Summer and Winter)
- First Aid Services
- Environmental Monitoring
- Preliminary Field Reconnaissance’s
At present we have 7 fulltime employees, comprised of 6 Forest Technicians (4 First Nations and 2 Non First Nations) and one full time machine operator. Over the last two years we have an additional 20 seasonal employees(8 months or less) based on client and contract needs.
Both SFE and the LNIB Natural Resources Department are BC Forest Safety Council Safe Certified.
We are also responsible for the management of LNIB’s FTOA and NRFL’s through agreements with the local licencees.
We manage the following pieces of band owned equipment:
- Kobelco 160 Blade Runner Excavator
- Hitachi 200 Forester Excavator
- Western Star Dump/Plow/Sand Truck
We presently have multi year contracts with Aspen Planers, Tolko Industries, Kinder Morgan and numerous other smaller clients.
We have just completed a contract with Flatiron-Graham on the Interior to Lower Mainland Transmission Project (ILM) at a value of approximately $800,000.00, which was through competitive bid.
We are presently finishing a contract with BC Hydro which saw us involved in all aspects of the Merritt Area Transmission Line (MAT) We were awarded two contracts for Transmission Line Clearing and Road Construction with our partners LNB Construction. Approximate value of both contracts was $8,000,000.00.
We are pursuing various other contracts both through JV opportunities and stand alone contracts.
